The position holder will be to supporting students and graduates in developing their career paths through guidance, resources, and employability initiatives. The role involves coordinating internships, mentorships, and job placement opportunities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing individual career counselling and coaching to students and alumni on topics such as career exploration, resume writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, networking, and professional development.
- Developing and delivering career-related workshops, seminars, and events to enhance students' employability skills and readiness for the workforce.
- Collaborating with academic departments to integrate career development into the curriculum and facilitate guest lectures, industry panels, and experiential learning opportunities.
- Coordinating career fairs, employer information sessions, on-campus recruiting events, and other employer engagement activities to connect students with potential employers.
- Administering and analysing career-related surveys and assessments to evaluate program effectiveness, track outcomes, and make data-driven improvements.
- Collaborating with campus partners, including academic advisors, student affairs professionals, and alumni relations staff, to provide holistic support to students’ career development needs.
- Developing and implementing innovative career development programs and workshops to enhance students’ employability skills.
- Participating in professional development opportunities, conferences, and networking events to enhance knowledge and skills in career services best practices.
- Implementing the mentorship and work-study programs.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor or as captured in your detailed job description.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a related field qualification from a recognised/accredited University in the relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in career counselling, student advising or related roles in a large and reputable organisation.
- Evidence of being a member of a relevant professional body.
- Strong understanding of career advising, job search strategies, and employment trends.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and organise career-related programs, workshops, and events.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in career services programming and initiatives.
