- Provide confidential individual and group counselling sessions to students on personal, social, and academic concerns.
- Offer crisis intervention and support for students facing emergencies or acute psychological distress.
- Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential counselling records in line with professional standards.
- Design and implement psycho-educational workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on mental health, stress management, conflict resolution, substance abuse, and other student-related issues.
- Provide guidance on personal development, adjustment to university life, and coping strategies.
- Work closely with faculty, student affairs, and administrative staff to identify and address student welfare issues.
- Ensure counselling services align with professional ethical standards and the UniversityÂ’s policies.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of student information while adhering to safeguarding and duty-of-care requirements.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.
- BachelorÂ’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Guidance & Counselling, or related field from an accredited University.
- At least 3 yearsÂ’ relevant experience in counselling in a reputable organisation.
- Additional Professional Certifications will be an added advantage
- Valid practising license from the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA).
- Knowledge of counselling theories and ethical practice.
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information
