We are seeking a forward-thinking, industry-connected, and student-centric lecturer in information communication technology. The ideal candidate has demonstrated the capability to bridge industry and academia, and their duties and responsibilities are as below:
They will be reporting to the Chairman of the Department of Information Communication Technology, Media, and Engineering and will be responsible for the following:
- Teaching cybersecurity & digital forensics-related course units as allocated by the Chair of the Department.
- Designing, developing, planning, and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
- Delivering high-quality lectures.
- Reviewing course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
- Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and the development of research activities.
- Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.
- Seeking and participating in consultancies.
- Presenting research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
- Disseminating research outputs.
- Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
- A minimum of a relevant PhD, Master's and Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity/digital forensics or a relevant field from an accredited and recognised university.
- At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/ Research Fellow.
- Has evidence of publications as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
- Supervised at least two (2) postgraduate students to completion.
- Attracted research funds.
- Has evidence of attending and contributing to academic conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- Is up to date with industry standards.
- Is a member of a relevant professional body.
